Tip 19: Overpopulate Your Show

Ideally, exhibitors measure the value of your show based on the quality leads they get and the return from those leads. In the real world, this is usually not true. Many exhibitors have only one criteria: are the aisles crowded?

So in addition to providing quality, be sure you turn out enough bodies to fulfill the perception that the aisles are crowded. Based on some research we have done, here are some rough rules of thumb for aisles:

Excellent..........18-20*

Very good........14-17

Good................10-13

Fair..........6-9

Poor.........5 or under

* Defined as verified attendees (including exhibitor personnel) per 100 nsf (one booth unit) for a 3-day show. We do not have figures for 2-day, 4-day or 5-day shows.

Note: These rules of thumb are for normal attendance patterns. "5" may be good (rather than poor) if your attendees stay on the floor all 3 days or actually visit each exhibitor.
